Bend-La Pine Schools
Bend, Oregon
Exceptional Bend-La Pine Schools, in Bend, Oregon, invites talented leaders to lead where exceptional quality of life meets meaningful impact.
Bend.
The name evokes the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest, and the majestic high desert beauty of Central Oregon. As the largest city in Central Oregon, Bend is home to a bustling arts scene, great dining and cheerful breweries, and phenomenal outdoor recreation. Literally minutes away from downtown you can be rafting on the Deschutes River or skiing and mountain biking on Mt. Bachelor. This is a place that entices everyone, and now may be your opportunity to be part of it all — as our renowned Bend-La Pine Schools currently seek a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Human Resources Officer to help shape the future of one of Oregon’s most dynamic school districts.
The Chief Human Resources Officer will play a critical leadership role in shaping the systems and strategies that support more than 2,000 employees across our district. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the CHRO will serve as one his key advisors and will guide talent strategy, labor relations, leadership development, and organizational systems and practices that help our people soar like the mountains to the west. Few opportunities combine the chance to lead the talent of an extraordinary workforce, partner with a highly collaborative leadership team, live in one of the most desirable communities in the Pacific Northwest and make a lasting impact for more than 16,000 students.
This is an especially compelling moment to join Bend-La Pine Schools. The district is continuing to strengthen its HR systems and structures while deepening collaboration across HR, finance, and instruction. Our new teammate will bring a strategic systems-thinker’s mindset and a heart for the people who dedicate their lives to serving schools and communities.
Application deadline: 5:00 pm Pacific Time on April 12, 2026. Salary range: 178,717 – 189,601. Start date is July 1, 2026 but a flexible transition timeline may be available for the right candidate.
