Eugene School District 4J is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. 

Home to the University of Oregon, Eugene is one of the country’s great college towns, and we are immensely proud of our school district.  Serving 14,000 students in Oregon’s southern Willamette Valley, “4J” as we affectionally call it, is a school system with a long tradition of educational excellence, innovation, and community engagement. Our schools include neighborhood and alternative programs, multiple language immersion pathways, and International Baccalaureate opportunities — all within a community that places a high value on public education.  We are now seeking the newest member of our leadership team in our Chief Financial Officer.

4J’s new CFO will join an extraordinary Superintendent at an important time, helping align resources with educational priorities in order to shape the district’s financial strategy for the future. This is an opportunity for an accomplished financial leader to bring both technical expertise and strategic perspective to work that matters deeply to students, staff, and community. Your impact will be enormous.

As CFO, you’ll report directly to the Superintendent and serve as one of her most senior advisors. You’ll provide strategic leadership for financial planning and forecasting, budgeting, accounting and reporting, internal controls, procurement, capital finance, and long-term fiscal stewardship. You’ll also will lead and develop a strong Financial Services team, advance modern and effective financial systems and processes, and communicate complex financial information clearly and credibly to the Board, Budget Committee, staff, and community.

Eugene 4J is looking for a leader who combines financial depth with sound judgment, transparency, collaboration, and a commitment to service — someone who can see beyond the numbers, help leaders understand their implications, and build confidence in the decisions that follow.
