Chief Financial Officer

Grants Pass School District 7

Grants Pass, Oregon

Lead where strong governance, community support, and student success come together.

Grants Pass, Oregon offers an exceptional quality of life and an equally compelling professional opportunity. With easy access to the Rogue River, Oregon Coast, Mount Ashland, Crater Lake, and the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival in nearby Ashland, Grants Pass is a place where outdoor adventure, vibrant arts, and a welcoming community create an outstanding place to live, work, and raise a family.

An exciting opportunity now exists to join Grants Pass School District 7, as we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the team this fall.

In Grants Pass, the public schools are at the heart of the community. Residents take great pride in their schools, supporting students through thriving booster programs, generous philanthropy, and a shared commitment to educational excellence. That community pride is reflected in one of Southern Oregon’s premier performing arts centers—a 730-seat auditorium that hosts nearly 200 performances and events each year and serves as a cultural destination for the region. Combined with award-winning music programs, thriving Career and Technical Education pathways, strong Advanced Placement opportunities, a tradition of excellence in the performing arts, and a full range of athletic programs, Grants Pass School District 7 is a place worth knowing

This year we anticipate celebrating the strongest academic year in the district’s history, including significant gains in reading, mathematics, and high school graduation. Our strong financial position, built through decades of thoughtful stewardship, responsible governance, a healthy ending fund balance, and dedicated PERS reserves, provides the flexibility and stability needed to successfully navigate any fiscal challenges facing Oregon schools in the coming biennium while maintaining a focus on students.

As Chief Financial Officer, you will join an experienced executive leadership team known for its collaboration, longevity, and strong relationships with employee groups. District leaders work together to solve complex challenges, support one another, and maintain positive partnerships with employee associations in service of staff, students, and schools. Grants Pass is large enough to offer meaningful challenges and diverse opportunities, yet small enough to remain nimble, innovative, and deeply connected to the community it serves.

Supported by an engaged School Board and a community that consistently invests in its schools—from transformational private gifts to enthusiastic volunteer support—the Chief Financial Officer will have the opportunity to build upon a strong legacy of fiscal excellence while helping shape the district’s next chapter.

Salary is from $170,000 to $178,000 and is PERS eligible.  This position is open until filled, and confidential inquiries to Christy Perry are welcome.
